Dome Paint Ball Team Building @ The Summit, Subang Jaya

21 September 2012
This quarter, our team decided to have paint ball as team building. To ensure we will not face weather problem, we opt for Dome Paint Ball. Dome Paint Ball was located at The Summit. It is an indoor paint ball field with air conditional.

Our team consists of 13 persons. Unfortunately, one of the team member was sick on the day.

Safety briefing was given by the marshal. although the marshal mentioned he was unfamiliar with English, he still can explained well to us in English.

We played 4 games.

1) Testing
All of us line up horinzontally. We practised the correct way to hold marker and aiming skill

2) Elimination Game
12 persons was divided into 2 teams. 2 team will shot each other. Once a person was get shot/painted, the person required to put his hand on head and walk out to death zone. No one was allowed to shot person with hand placed on head.

3) Second Elimination Game

4) Life and Death Game
Flag was placed on wall. Each team must grab another team flags. The first team that collected all the flag is winner. Game will be terminated once flags was collected. This game was designed by Whisley.

The scariest part of the game was been shot and the marker sound.
1) An instant pain will be felt when we been shot. Bruises will appear after the game.
2)The marker was controlled by the gas tank attached behind. It created a very scary sound.

Overall, we really have  great fun. No pain no gain

Price: 157,080 rupiah / RM49.32

Review: The best crispy duck I ever have. I can't help thinking how they cook the duck. Duck is a kind of meat quite hard to cook. Yet the meat was well marinated and well fried. The bone are very crispy too. Another point for the dish is the side source. I really like the onion source. It taste so wonderful when eat with a piece of duck meat. Bali Fuit salad is more like cut fruit mixed with Gula Melacca ( Balck syrup) and coconut. We are quite taken back when the waiter informed us the hot tea can only be refilled once.(I do not know this rule apply in this cafe) It is a sad thing my boyfriend do not have the chance to taste this dish. He is an expert in tasiting duck dishes.

Why Maybank should give me tickets to Legoland

Disney Land Theme Park is every kid  dream. That was my dream when I  was a kid. I grow up watching Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy. The beautiful Disney land castle always enchanted me. I will imagine myself playing with Mickey Mouse or other Disney Princess in the elegant castle.

Therefore, I learnt to save up my money in Maybank Yippie Saving Account when I was a child.

As I grow up, I witness the harness of reality. The money I saved was not enough. Disney Land Theme Park only existed in United State, Europe, Japan and Hong Kong. To visit Disney Land Theme Park, one need to prepare transportation fair, accommodation fare, theme park fee and food expenses. The kid dream grew further away from me

There always sunshine after the rain. Legoland is here, Malaysia. The first Legoland in Asia and first international Park in Malaysia.

This is the time to show "Malaysia Boleh" play spirit.

I get the chance to fight dragon in the Lego Kingdom. See the miniature seven wonders of the world in Miniland. Not to forget our proud landmark, Petronas Twin Tower. Enjoy water splashing fun in the Land of Adventure. Let your ideas get creative and run wild at Imagination and Lego City. Courage and bravery test at Lego Technic. What else should we ask for to fulfill our inner kid's dream?

That is why Maybank should give me tickets to Legoland ^0^ Please... please... please

Bali "Chopping board" Experience

"Kena Ketuk", "Disembelihkan" , 砍菜头(kan cai tou), chopping board are some term used in Malaysia to refer to been over charged or cheated. I would like to share my experiences. Hopefully other can avoid this kind of experience.
Kecak Dance performance at GWK

1) 100K rupiah to Kuta (per person)
After we stepped out of Denpasar Airport, the only that attract me was paper. Lots of local holding up paper with name. Practically all the iron grid was leaned by tour operator or driver. We wanted to walk to taxi  counter.  Before we can walk to the taxi counter( we take the wrong turn, it should be right not left), a taxi driver approached us.

Driver : Where are you going? pergi mana?
Friend : Kuta
Driver : 100k .... rupiah
Friend and I opened our eyes to the biggest.............
Driver : per person

Please research before go Bali. The minimum price from Denpasar airport to Kuta is 50k rupiah. No we did not take him. We walk off to taxi counter.

2) Kuta and Seminyak is Different Place.....
At the taxi counter,

Receptionist : Hi where you want to go?
Friend: Kuta
Receptionist : which hotel?
Friend: Everyday Smart Hotel
Receptionist : 70k rupiah
Friend : not 50k rupiah meh? Kuta leh! ( Malaysian, we can't help with all the leh, mah, emh, loh ^^)
Receptionist: No, your hotel is at Seminyak not Kuta
Friend : but our receipt said is Kuta
Receptionist : Seminyak (Firmly)

When reach  hotel, we ask the hotel receptionist. Kuta or Seminyak???  hotel receptionist said it firmly KUTA.

let the driver earn some too.(provided you have enough tips (~.~ saya pun tak cuckup duit)

3) Taxi Meter Waiting Fee
The taxi we took to Tanah Lot added some value to the meter as waiting charge. We did not mind since he waited for us 2 hours at Tanah Lot Parking area.  When we reached our hotel, he request another round of waiting fee. We paid what written in the meter as he already added a large sum in the meter.

There is only one waiting fee per location

4) Menjangan  Island Snorkeling
This one we did not researched well. The diver charged us 500k rupiah per person. It supposed to be 300k rupiah. We noticed only when we check with hotel guide book. The receipt clearly written 4 drinks. We only got 2 drinks during snorkeling

Please have a researched price list before go

Below will be the "chopping board" experience of my bf, CS. He went on 18 August 2012 to 22 August 2012. I went on 15 August 2012 to 22 August 2012. CS went with 3 more friends, K1, K2 and T.

5) Been dragged into shop ? Ditarik masuk kedai
CS, K1, K2 and T were exiting one of the temple. When they reached the van, only did they realise T was missing. T had been dragging into a shop for 5 minutes. The shop keeper was a lady. By the time, K1 and K2 found him. T still bargained with the lady. To escape the "evil hand", T was forced to buy a T shirt

Please bring a girl when travel in Bali

6) 1 Million Rupiah Meal in Jimbaran
4 guys eat seafood dinner at jimbaran. The dinner set is only 5 dishes. Fish, scallop, prawn , crab and a vegetables. They only ordered fruit juice. The bill was 1 Million Rupiah.....

Please eat seafood in Malaysia.

7) T Shirt Tactic
CS was exiting the temple tour. All the temple exit will end up in a maze of souvenir shops. He accidentally have an eye contact with one of the shop keeper lady.

Shop lady : Sir see! see! see! see! ( then she put a T shirt on his shoulder)
CS: Don't want ( throw back to her)
Shop lady: no no sir buy! sir buy! cheap cheap 50k (lady throw back to him)
CS: Don't want! tak mau! ( walk further away and attempt to throw back
Shop lady: no no sir take! sir take! cheap cheap 50k only
in then end no sure how many round of throwing and catching, CS bargain for 15k. After he paid, he can safely walk out the "maze"

Please bring a girl if you want to exit temple or buy souvenir.

A story shared by my friend, CL's personal Bali experience. He travelled in May 2012

8) Well Prepared Traffic Police

CL rented a motorbike in Kuta. He was waiting for the traffic light signal. It was red at that time However, motobiker drivers behind him were horning him. Without any choices, He push his bike over the line so other riders can pass by him. Next a traffic police walk out and ask him to park at the road side. He told CL that  CL broke the law of drive past the red light. The police even show him a nicely laminated traffic ticket price list(in Malaysia and Indonesia, we called it Saman). He hinted CL that by paying 50% of the ticket fee to ease the problem. Unfortunately, CL did not have enough cash at the time. The police even accompanied CL to money changer. In the end, under table money(Duit Kopi) settle all.

Under table money(Duit Kopi)  is an unwritten law in certain country

What can I do with Sony Cyber-shot WX100 in my daily life?

Why take photo? To capture the moment and memory

Today, every smartphone equipped with camera. Everyone will carry a DSLR, mirror less len camera or compact camera. Thus, most of the people like to take photo then share in on Facebook, instagram, blog or photobook.

What so good about Sony Cyber-shot WX100??
==================================

18.2MP “Exmor R™” CMOS Sensor with Extra High Sensitivity technology
an image will be clear and vibrant with 18.2MP. The effect will be great if seen it on large TV ^^. I can easily show my photos to my grandmum without she strengthen her eyesight

10x Optical Zoom
Hmm this usually happen to me when I travel with my boyfriend.

Me: Hi can you help me take a photo with that background?
Boyfriend: Ya sure ( taking over the camera and busy pressing the zooming button).... Hi are you ready? ( without saying anything, he shot the photo O.O)
Me: let me see! let me see!
Boyfriend:(cheeky smile) Hi girl I think your pimple is getting larger
Me: (punch him) WHY you focus at the wrong place? take again
Boyfriend: (laughing) Ok! OK!

Yes, It will be a great way to identify your pimple...........................

High-speed Auto Focus
Dance is a ever changing art routine with music. During a performance, the dance steps will be so fast sometime quite impossible to shot it clearly.I love to watch art performance. If permission was given, I will try my best to capture the best dance technique of the performance. High speed Auto Focus definitely will help me solve it.

20x Clear Image Zoom
This remind me of a joke I saw on Facebook previously. We used to pray before eating but now a day we take photo before we eat. I used to take photo before I eat. However, not with my parent or best friends. They do not like the idea of DSLR finding the good position, good lighting and something big places above the food. Most importantly we like to eat it while hot. Thus, with 20x clear image zoom, I can captured the food photo fast enough before anyone pick up their culinary.

9 Picture Effect modes
Wow you can straight away edit the effect on camera immediately after taking the photo. No need to transfer into PC, open software, decision of choosing , save then post.  I can save the process of editing.

Full HD recording with Optical SteadyShot
I love taking dance or performing art scene. I can shot a HD video immediately without blurly image. I usually help my ballerina friends to take their video

Friend: I going do this routine you help me to shot nice nice one aaahh
Me: oooh ok (positioning myself, taking the camera) ok start the music
Friend dance finish
Friend: so how was it?
Me: erm the middle part I hand shake a bit can you dance again? (paiseh  lah hand got tired)
Friend: #_)$&%$*&*

This camera can really help me.

Smallest and Light Weighted
Travel light is the key to walk and see further. My dad hate to see me carry DSLR around. He always complain a short girl like me carry bulgy bag around look like a kangaroo. (Great Kangaroo in Malaysia ~.~) . With this camera, I can just easily slide it inside my bag and take it everywhere I go

For more detail on Sony Cyber-shoot WX100, please visit http://www.sony.com.my/product/dsc-wx100/sku/dsc-wx100_p+e32
With the help of this camera, it really can help me a lot in my daily life ^^

Bali Accommodation Review

During our 8 days journey, We changed 6 hotel/ hostel or guest house.

15 August 2012 - 17 August 2012 Everyday Smart Hotel, Kuta
The room is very modern but very small. I don't know how to shoot the room as there is only small space for us to stand.  Location is hmm not so near city a bit deserted. One thing good is near to Giant hypermarket.

18 August 2012 Rahayu Bungalow, Ubud
Nice Balinese garden and friendly staff. Our room was super large and clean.

For me, this was the best I ever stayed in Bali. Bali Villa facing paddy field. The bed so wide that we can spread our hand and leg wide.

20 August 2012 Badini Hotel, Pemuteraan
We booked standard fan room.
Bed is clean but the bathroom is open style. No matter how we wash our leg, it always feel sandy.

For my travel mate, this was the best hotel we ever stayed in Bali. The first hotel we met with hair dryer, coffee maker, complete tea set, variety of TV channel and super large bathroom. The breakfast was the best we ever had in Bali. The breakfast was very big portion great for me, as heavy breakfast eater.

Good location, good service, friendly and helpful staff just a bit expensive

My detail hotel review can be found at Tripadvisor.com

KaKaoTalk : tomybali7761

Please call him personally if you need Bali driver service

Since May 2012, we contacted Wayan Andy to be our driver. Wayan Andy was quite famous among Malaysian. Most of the blogger wrote about him. However, he arranged Tomy as our driver. We really grateful Tomy been our driver for 5 days. We chartered him since 17 August 2012 to 21 August 2012.Although we had a small misunderstanding with Mr Wayan Andy, Tomy still willing to fetch us around. ( In the end, We solved out with Mr Wayan Andy, no unhappiness was created)

We plan our itinerary based on some blogger or website reviews. Unfortunately, the route was different from most of the Aseans' route. Thus, we discuss the best route that can visit most of the places within the petrol budget.

We are his first customer that have the "extraordinary" journey.  Most of the Aseanita(new term created by Air Asia) prefer to visit shopping, spa, massage or near to Kuta area. We are special one

 We break his many record.
1) We stay at 6 hotels within 8 days
2) He have to stay with us for 3 days since the journey is too far from Kuta
3) We are his first client to go Pemuteraan
4) We keep asking him to help us find "perangko" or stamp (We need stamp for mailing purpose)

What so great about Tomy?
1) He make sure our safety
2) He let us know the best price for souvenir ( at least we girl can know the price before we go for "bargain" training / dealing with seller ^^)
3) He recommend good food
4) He specialized in East of Bali (He have tour guide certificate)
5) He explained Bali culture well
6) He speak good Bahasa Malaysia and Bahasa Indonesia. English and Japanese is ok to him.
7) We met a bad guy in Bedugul. He was willing to spent half a day to help us.
8) He willing to work overtime
9) He willing to listen to us

If you plan to charted a driver in Bali, please take note
1) Please tell your tour guide or driver your itinerary clearly.
Ubud, Kuta, Nusa Dua, Jimbaran, Tanjung Benoa are considered short distance / "Jarak Pendek"
North of Bali(Lovina, Pemuteraan, Singaraja)  and West of Bali are considered long distance / " Jarak Jauh"

2) Please get the full day/half day price clearly before you reach Bali

3) Driver will usually bring you to the place they can get commission. If you want to avoid go to those place, talk nicely and discuss with the chartered price.

Bali Trip 2012 Review

Tegalalang
To quote from Ajahn's book, Opening The Door of Your Heart,

"Grant yourself a moment of peace
and you will understand
how foolishly you have scurried about."

So plan for yourself a retreat today.

Bali, Thousand Temples Island. It truly live up to its name. No matter where you go sure there is a temple/ Pura. It is really a good place to relax( hmm some how). Most of the tourist attraction places need entrance fee and parking fee. When you want to buy souvenir at any of the market, you need to negotiate and bargain with all the skills you have.

What I learned/reseached about Bali before the trip?

  •  it is a cheap place for Malaysian to travel (depend on the type of accommodation)
  •  It is a good place to relax
  •  tourist should do spa and massage there
  •  For non-muslim, you should try Babi guling, cripsy duck, nasi campur, masakan padang and Avacado juice
Sun  Rise at Lovina

What I learned about Bali after the trip?

  • As I traveled, I found that Bali was too commercialized.
  •  Every thing need to bargain or negotiate.
  •  most of the travel attraction is a bit far. You need motorbike, car or bicycle to reach.
  •  Since January 2012, most of the entrance fee been increased.
  • what we see from map is near but some how it was impossible to walk.
  •  When you ask for direction, no matter how short or how far the distance is, people will try to convince you to get a taxi or cab. Then they will come up with all the transportation contact
  •  Kuta seem to jam every minute, hour and day
  •  Bali driver do not like other state car to enter Bali
  •  Some food are expensive due to popularity and location
  •  I in love with Ibu Oka Babi Guling Special
  • Ubud Is a nice place to relax and view greenery
  •  Bedugul is a very cool and windy place just like our Malaysia Cameron Highland
  •  When ever you want to cross the road, rise up your "god ' hand", car or motobike will slow down a bit
  •  When ever you want to cross the road, somehow one or two Bali people will shown up help you to stop the car from both direction. They are very friendly. They ask for nothing in return too.
  •   Bali driver or tour guide like you to take photo of their attraction or animal
  •  They will said "poto, poto". Initially I thought was potato...so I look around for potato plant. Then they make take photo pose only i realise "poto" = "photo"
  • Bahasa Indonesia is 50% different from Bahasa Malaysia
  • Bali people is very friendly toward tourist
  • Kissing and hugging is common ( we were shocked to see westerner couple kiss at street. deep one)
  • Most of the food i ate have 10% or 15% pajet (tax)
  • Kintamani restaurant have the highest tax i ever paid in Bali, 21%
  • Never underestimate the monkeys
  • Bali people's driving skill is fantastic ( i almost have heart attack a few time)
  • Duit Kopi (under table money) is common in Bali
  • There are lots of prayers going on in Bali
  • Balinese grandmum are very professional in making Canang( flower offering)
  • The interior design of bali house was great. It was full with carving. Their veranda usually is facing beautiful Bali style garden
  • Bali people seem to be carefree and relax
  • There are less clouds in Bali
  • No matter how I apply sun screen lotion, I still get sun burn
  • Bali father will give their son a house at the age of 15
  • To Balinese, experience is more useful or  important than education
  • Balinese like to ask tourist " Ini kali keberapa datang Bali?".(Is this your first time visit Bali?) or Where are you from? In the end, my friend feed up with this question. She answer "dunia" (I come from World)

Overall, I have great fun in Bali.
