IM Klik Photography Competition

Y.B. Tan Sri Datuk Seri Shahrir bin Hj Abd Samad, Member of Parliment for Johor Bahru, officially launched the IM klik Photography Competition today at a ceremony help at Double Tree Johor Bahru. The Competition is organised by Iskandar Investment Berhad (IIB). It aims to provide photographers an opportunity to showcase their talents and encourage students to take up photography, as they capture images that embody the theme of "Liveable Iskandar Malaysia". Also present at the launch was Tuan Haji Md. Hasidin bin Hj. Zaini, Assistant Director of Johor State Education Department.

President and CEO of IIB, Datuk Syed Mohamed Bin Syed Ibrahim, said: "IIB has been an integral part of the Iskandar Malaysia story, and we are extremely proud to see Iskandar Malaysia transforming into the liveable city it is today. Through this Competition we want to showcase that Iskandar Malaysia is more than bricks and mortar. We want the many faces, emotions and expressions of Iskandar Malaysia to be captured and celebrated by Iskandarians themselves. We want them to share the various images of Iskandar Malaysia as captured through their lenses."

The competition runs for a month from 22 September 2014, and is open to the public, with a separate category especially for students aged between seven to twelve years old. THe judging of all entries will commence on 27 October 2014 and the winners will be announced on 14 November 2014 at an awards ceremony. The winners stand to win up to RM4,000 in the Open category and RM1,500 in the Junior klikers category together with vouchers, photography merchandises and certificates. The winning photographs from both categories will also be displayed at the IM Klik Photo Gallery as part of ISKARNIVAL 2014 that will take place at the end of the year.

Other than the Competition, the IM klik Photography Competition features other activities such as photography talk and workshop held by Nikonian Beyond Photography Academy. There will also be a special Photography exhibition by the students from Raffles University Iskandar (RUI). These activities aim to nurture participants' interest in photography, equip them with skills to make them better photographers and showcase the photography of students from RUI. All theses activities are open to the public.
