Kuching food festival -2010

Rain, rain go away, please come later or another day.
I wish , I pray for a good weather just to enjoy kuching food festival.
however, my wish was not granted, drizzling still continue. Never mind at least i still have the experience to tour kuching food fest in the rain. ^0^ new experience holding an umbrella, walking around, buy food. hahhaa the most interesting part is see your friend eat with head link to shoulder. using shoulder and head to grap on to the umbrella, while both hands was busily swapping food to mouth. a truly unique picture that can obly view during rainy day

A big Thank you, Infosys Foundation Program supervisor, Ms Sarah, our handsome penghulu and penghuluwati yang ayu, UNIMAS Bus conductor, UNIMAS guard. Thanks for organizing this trip. It save our time looking for car park and transportation fee ^0^

as usual, crowd was always that huge at kuching food festival. In my experience, every day also big crowd. hmm some time i wonder kuching really have big population.

Kuching Dance Festival 2010 - part 1

Thank to Tyng Dance Academy, I got a chance to attend International Belia Dance Night 2010. This concert was held at Borneo Convention Center.

The program tentative was

Since i miss the first International dance festival, I will not miss this chance again.

First time drive to Borneo Convention Center, I like the fact that the parking is free. phew ... can save a bit.

It is very big and modern building. The main gate was facing a river and from the balcony / parking drop off point, we can see beautiful sunset.

Back to the topic, the event of the year. Got the chance to see different kinds of dance from different country. In my opinion,

The most touching is "faraway dad "dance from one of the china troupe.
synopsis of faraway dad
in china, some of the parent need to leave their children at the hometown for a better life. They will travel far to the city to earn living. Thus the only communication between the parent and the child was weekend phone call. the dance really show every little details of the reality.

This bring back my memory. Last year I travel to china to visit my dad. we are lucky that one of
dad's friend(Mr A) invited us to experience China ancient village lilfe style / kampung lifestyle in yancheng , 盐城. Mr and Ms A work in Shanghai and only gone home twice a year. Thus, they pack lots of things for their family members in their hometown. The most important was they finally have the chance to reunion with their little girl. During the journey, I can hear that Ms A was chatting happily with her daughter (Girl A). A series of events was plannedfor the home coming.

Once reach the yancheng home, Girl A rushed out to hug her mother. touching was the only word come to my mind. Family love was always the best. During the 2 days stay in 盐城, Ms A will buy any things Girl A ask for. Girl A was an obedient and filial girl. all she ask for was pigeon soup and some tidbits. During every meal, I witnessed Ms A was happily cooking all the dishes for her little girl.

At the end of the home stay, Mr A's family hug tightly to each other. Once a year, they can only met 4 time. They really treasure the moment together.

This dance really bring back my memory and i can't help think Girl A and my parent.


The most sexy dance is belly dance from Indonesia
shimmering was consider one of the most difficult dance movement. But, it prove me wrong, the dancer can easy dance out. her belly was shilvering gentlely and her move capture my heart. all her movement was so sexy that my eye could not leave her. I believe all the photographers agreed with me. because the clicking sound was greater during this performance.


The most visual effect was korea dance from hong kong troupe.


The story that can get across me was"the story of white crane"

World Rain Forest Music Festival 2010

I finally got the chance to join World Rain Forest Music Festival.
Thank to celcom, I got the chance to get student ticket. it really save me a lot of money. thus extra money can be spend on travel expenses , food and beverage.

9am- eat green noodles at 3rd mile. happily eating dumpling "yuntun", green noodle, soy bean and toast bread. the green noodle is made up of spanish vegetable. I prefer the charsiew greeen noodle. it taste better because the char siew is really delicious and yummy. while the ginger duck green noodle is too oily.

10am- chatting till we almost forget the time thus we quickly pack and travel to sarawak cultural village.

11am- reach Sarawak Cultural Village. weird why less people. but before mentioning o the crowd. the shutter van service. Due to some reason they blocked away the Sarawak Cultural Village parking lot, thus we need to park our car at santubong resort.

the distance from santubong resort to sarawak culural village(SCV) is hmm far, quite far actually very far. thus we need to take shutter van. the round up trip for shutter van cost RM10. I turn into ice stone cold. although is far but it will only took Rm1 to rm 2 just to travel the long distance. *sigh once in the life time , just forget about the money

while in the SCV alot of camp was set up. a lot of craft, souvenier, food and beverage store were set up.




2pm- Indian Percussion at theater

amzed, bravo, marvellous, hao bang. I hope i can use up all the good words i know to the performances. It was so cool . usinmg simple rhythm , masterpiece will start encircled the hall.

I was clapping my hand so hard that i did not realise the pain till the show finished

3.15pm - Come and dance: balkan dance at Dewan Lagenda


Really enjoy this session. learn balkan dance. it is very simple. 1,2,3,4, ,kick right, kick left. very easy to catch up. the music was lovely too

4.30pm - Rhythm master at Iban Long house

Drums from all over the world.
when they plays the last piece, I reminds me a little story told by an australian monk.
Once you are the master of your instrument, You can play a lovely piece of music. When music masters gathers and work in harmony, master piece of music will be produced. Ignore the the skin colour, culture, language, religious, If we master the things well, we can corporate and work in harmony. the music was just great.

5.30pm- ckc and me faster went to dewan lagenda to booked a good spot for the great event of the day. Live concert. who care the floor is dirty, i just want to have a good spot to enjoy the music.

5.50pm- enjoy our simple dinner. example, sushi, ice cream, soda, pia bread.(the mutton pita bread is really delicious)

7.00pm - started to dozed off -.-zzzz raining heavly, lots of people gathered at dewan lagenda

7.00pm - first performance started. ^0^ Sarawak ethnic music

7.30pm - China music performance.

8.30pm- gypsies prformance. wow the crow was really really high on this performance, a beautiful gypsy lady dance gracefuly with lots of items. such as very high hat(i think so, is really really high), glass, fire, rope, candle stand and skirt. I like her tradisional costume.

9.30pm - need to go back

It is a MUST event to join and participate in life time. You can really enjoy good music and enjoy the rain forest. it really mean to be raining all night long because it is truly rain forest ^0^

Into the new classical

22 May 2010, experienced a truly unique dance performance.
very grateful that i can participate and help out in the charity dinner night

the theme is very special : into the new classical
it was created by the principal of Tyng Dance Academy, Ms Chan Tyng Tyng.
She is truly a creative, brave and brilliant ladies i ever met



Into the new classical mean let us forget all the dance movements that we learn before let go of the burden, use our creativity and move forward . into the new era of dance. into the new classical.
