Cendol on the way back from Sekinchan to Kuala Lumpur

On our way back from Sekinchan, we passed by 2 cendol stores

1) Cendol Durian Bohran
We did not get the chance to try this. We are so full after a great lunch at Cha Po Tian, Sekinchan. The most important thing is CS dislike durian. =.=||| Although he did not mind I eat durian, he will not talk to me or in any way of communication if I consume durian for 5 days. =.=|||
 2 things caught my attention.
a) Mr Bohran Put his portrait so big. We can help notice when we drive pass the stall. This is consider quite abnormal in Malaysia culture. Usually I saw this kind of advertisement in South Korea.
b) It was crowded during 2pm. To cater that big crowd, The stall have big car park too.

2) Cendol Bakar, Drive Through
We quite surprised that it was quite jam when we approach a stall. They even have RELA( volunteer police) to direct the traffic. At first, I thought it was a Malay Wedding ceremony going on but it was just a food stall. Before I notice clearly what the stall sell, CS already park his car. As we walk nearer, only we realise it was selling cendol too.

It was around 3.30pm, our tummy have a bit space for dessert time.

I was inspired by the stall owner to have drive through concept for Malaysian dessert. Drive through usually can only be seen at fast food stall. While queueing up to order the cendol, I read up the recent stall interview by local newspaper.

Cendol Bakar does not mean it bbq or burn up the cendol. I can't imagine my cendol burn up to become black jelly. They roast the gula melacca ( traditional coconut rock sugar) to enhance the aroma. Thus, the syrup is really special than other stall.  CS and I agree that the syrup tasted so good, we really want to refill. We were quite shy as we did not see order refill.

We really have great fun explore unknown food stall along the roadside.

Food in Sekinchan

Barli with lime RM1.30

Curry Mee RM3.50
It is full with ingredient... Not sure why all most all the stall are very generous in giving us char siew. This was hardly seen in Kuala Lumpur or Johor Bahru

Wan Tan Mee RM4.00
This was ordered from different stall. We were really surprised with the generousity of the stall owner on char siew.

Spicy Stir Fried Shark Meat RM15
The waitress promoted this dish to be cook with spicy bean paste. We did not find it too spicy but it is very delicious

Fried Cuttle Fish RM 13
It is not oily. Cuttle fish have different texture then squid or sotong that  we usually eat. The waitress said cuttle fish has no cholestrol compare to sotong. I not sure how true is that but is it indeed very delicious and crispy

Fish Ball soup RM9
How can we not eat fish ball at sekinchan? so we ordered this fish ball soup. It was cooked with fish ball, toufu, tomato and salt preserved vegetable. It was tasted a bot salty with a bit of sour. I think most of the girl like this kind of taste. As most of my jimui like this kind of taste. Not for guy, especially CS. He does not like sour or bean paste favour food. Sometime I even wonder why a guy can be so choosy or picky about his food?

Teluk Intan Chee Chong Fan RM7.50
Firstly thank you the uncle for driving all the way from Teluk Intan to sell this.
We personally prefer to eat it fresh at Teluk Intan. CS lost his control. we already ordered so many food when he saw Teluk Intan Chee Chong Fan... He  been missing this dish since our February Teluk Intan trip. He bought it without second thought. It was really fail our expectation and disappointing. We will have this when we visit Teluk Intan in near future.

We have our lunch at Cha Po Tian.
Cha Po Tian operates from 7am to 2pm. The business is so good that patience is needed for the food to served. Waiting is worthy as the food is delicious. They close order at 2pm sharp. We saw they really reject some customers at 2pm sharp. Even though there are still many customer at 2pm, some of their famous dishes run out of stock too. I really recommend this restaurant.

Ler Review on Sekinchan Trip

Sekinchan, the place that produced rice and fish.

It is indeed beautiful as the paddy field turn into rich golden. It is the time to collect the rich ripe paddy.

Fish catch from the Melacca Strait was served around the fishing village

Due to less tall tree in the paddy field, the sun generously shone on us. Yes I become a dried salted fish by the end of the day.

I like the beauty of the plantation
I hope it can improve yet retain its beauty.
